'Point' Systems (Medium Pressure)

The term 'point' is given to deterrent systems that display upward pointing 'spikes', usually made of steel with a plastic base. They are installed in 12-inch strips, with the aid of silicone adhesive or suitable stainless steel fixings. Under current UK law, this type of deterrent is legal providing the tips of the spikes are blunted to avoid the birds injuring themselves, should they try to land.

Safeguard only install legal, humane deterrent systems.

This type of deterrent is normally used exclusively for Feral pigeons (Columba livia), however; new products are now available which are extremely effective against Seagulls (Larus spp.).

Point systems work best when installed in buildings suffering 'low to medium roosting pressure', as heavily populated flocks will attempt to break down this system.

There are different types of spike systems; each displaying robust quality for long lasting exclusion of pest birds and are chosen by our surveyors for each individual situation.
