The Westfield Group has interests in and operates one of the world’s largest shopping centre portfolios. The global portfolio has 119 high quality regional shopping centres in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and United Kingdom valued in excess of $58 billion, with approximately 24,000 retailers in 10.5 million square metres of retail space.
Project
Beneath a spectacular, undulating glass roof, the progressive, bright and sleek design of Westfield encompasses 5 anchor stores, more than 265 speciality shops, over 40 places to dine and a state of the art 14 screen cinema, with a retail floor area of 150,000m2 (1,615m ft2). To demonstrate their commitment to their staff, property, tenants, customers and the surrounding environments, Westfield realises the importance of a preventative integrated pest management service.

Observations
Safeguard is the preferred contractor to deliver this service for Westfield, not just to the retail units, but also for management suites, reception areas, offices, meeting rooms, main kitchen and catering areas supported by 24 hours per day 365 days a year callout and repair
service.
To ensure we meet the high standards and specifications determined by Westfield we carry out weekly routine inspections to the entire main site, as well as the external perimeter, to monitor and inspect the various areas for any activity. Combined with this we also conduct management programmes against pest birds, such as bird point and netting systems, which prevents them from roosting or nesting on site.
Completion
Safeguard are proud to provide a highly comprehensive, auditable integrated pest management system in co-operation with Westfield’s staff to ensure the highest level of prevention of the many pest species in London.
