Knock-Out Builds Pest Control Team

A high growth pest control company in the South-East has been following a fun formula to stimulate team building and help staff develop their roles, as their business expands.

The principles of developing outdoor skills have been adapted to support team building, within the fast-growing pest control company.

A series of team games have brought together staff from different departments to engage in fun activities which require mutual support and co-operation to win, in the style of “It’s A Knock-Out”.

Safeguard, a leading independent pest control company, organised the fun day as part of the business strategy to enable employees to engage with each other in different ways and test their skills in working together to achieve results.

Safeguard, specialists in health and safety, hired events company Right Angle Events to ensure staff could tackle the games safely whilst having fun at the same time.

James Sheehan, head of marketing, says “There are many different ways to learn new skills and the most effective are those ways which are memorable as well as meaningful; and outdoor games combine these two elements.  These games also give everyone a chance to engage on the same, level playing field irrespective of which department they are from.”

A story of responsibility, “Who is responsible?”

There were once four people named

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

An important job arrived, and Everybody was asked to do it.

Everybody was sure Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it but Nobody did it.

Somebody was angry, because it was Everybody’s job.

But Everybody thought Anybody could do it.

Nobody realised Everybody would not do it.

So Everybody blamed Somebody

When Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
